Introduction
Serum is a decentralized exchange and ecosystem based on central limit order books. The project was launched in August 2020.
Use Cases
Thanks to Serum's on-chain order books, traders can choose the price, size, and direction of their trades. Other protocols can integrate with Serum's order books to facilitate trading across projects and benefit from Serum's existing liquidity. The trading fees on Serum are split between the project that hosts the front end and Serum itself.
Tokenomics
Serum earns revenue from trading fees, which are used to buy and burn SRM tokens. Serum has two native tokens, SRM and MSRM, first issued in August 2020. SRM was first issued in August 2020. SRM token holders vote on proposals that govern the Serum DAO. Serum's investors include Tiger Global, Commonwealth Asset Management, and Tagus Capital, among others.
