Introduction
Lido is a liquid staking protocol for Ethereum and other Proof of Stake chains such as Solana and Terra. The protocol was launched in December 2020.
Use Cases
Users can stake their assets on Lido to earn daily staking rewards. After staking, users will receive staked tokens. These staked tokens can be used across the DeFi ecosystem to gain yield on top of the staking rewards.
Tokenomics
Lido collects a percentage of the staking rewards as a protocol fee. Lido's governance token is LDO, first issued in December 2020 with a total supply of 1B. Lido's investors include Alameda Research, Coinbase Ventures, Delphi Digital, Digital Currency Group, Dragonfly Capital, Jump Capital, ParaFi Capital, and Libertus Capital, among others.
