Introduction
Solend is a DeFi project to lend, borrow, leverage long, and short crypto assets. The project was launched in June 2021.
Use Cases
Solend uses a similar borrowing and lending mechanism to those of Aave and Compound, but takes advantage of Solana's scalability to offer fast transactions and low fees. Lenders earn the majority of the borrow interest rate.
Tokenomics
Solend earns a cut of the borrow interest rate. The Solend DAO first issued its governance token (SLND) in October 2021 and is governed by the SLND token holders. Solend's investors include Polychain, Race Capital, and Coinbase Ventures, among others.
